Hi! Here is a small selection of 12 Design Icons smartly reproduced and currently sold by IKEA. The funny thing (well, actually not so funny) is that, when these furnishing pieces are quite similar to - when not widely inspired by - the originals, IKEA does not declare any credits to the original authors. Just IKEA of Sweden is mentioned or - even worst - other scandinavian designers are credited.
Should I believe that - for example - Gillis Lundgren is the actual inventor of the worldwide famous Alvar Aalto's stool?!? Yes, of course I do know that Frosta stool is 20x cheaper than the original - how could I forget it - but…hey, what is the real cost of this lack of knowledge? That's my question.
I'm not 100% against or for IKEA, don't mislead me please. I just want you to consider the actual situation.
